 Martin Nicholls, Owner & Managing Director of ESW Solutions.

Starting from humble roots in Exeter 15 years ago, Martin has steered the business through many changes and steadily grown it into the well respected company that it is today. A self confessed workaholic, Martin has a direct involvement with everything that happens at ESW. Martin will often be seen working alongsidecrew members during set up for events as well as working closely with clients, guiding clients through conceptualisation to realisation of their event. Each day Martin works from ESW Head Office and frequently travels throughout Europe as business dictates. When not at work Martin can often be heard on Devon'sbest local radio station Palm 105.5 presenting his regular Sunday breakfastshow as has been his keen hobby for the last 5 years. Our picture here shows Martin looking surprisingly awake at 7am on a Sunday morning. Tracey Nicholls, Director.

Tracey is an ESW Director, Company Secretary, and for her sins is married to Martin. Tracey is responsible for much of the back office work that happenswithin ESW. Tracey is very popular with the staff as she is responsible forpaying their wages and also looking after the company accounts. In her spare time, Tracey is never happier than when she is in a pair of wellies helping her daughter Sam look after their horses.

 

Adam Waller, Operations Director.

Having been involved with the industry for many years, Adam is the Operations Director for ESW. Adam's specialist areas include event production and media work. Adam has been involved with producing some large events throughout the region and has gained a reputation in this field that is second to none. With a unique way of looking at projects and an in depth understanding of health and safety issues, Adam is highly skilled in event management and is always happy to discuss prospective ideas and projects with clients in order to help create the perfect event. A competent studio engineer and keen musician, Adam's musical prowess includes drums, guitar, saxophone, clarinet, in fact the list seems to be endless. In his spare time Adam is a well respected session musician as pictured here whilst playing drums for renowned soul band Joey The Lips. Rob Watson, Business Development Manager.

Rob has been involved with ESW from day one and knows the business inside out. As Business Development Manager Rob has been an integral element of the company's growth over many years. Rob is also a highly skilled technician, experienced project manager and installer himself. Rob is never happier than when he is trying to find a solution for clients unique and sometimes strange requests, whether it be a digital signage solution for a huge college campus or a PA system styled to be in keeping with an old fashioned steam railway station, as has been requested in the past! In Rob's free time there is very little time to rest as he is the proud father of twin girls, as pictured here. Another great passion of Rob's is tinkering with his beloved Land Rover, another very much loved family member. Rob's knowledge and experience in the AV industry makes him the perfect first port of call at ESW, whether you are looking to host an event, a conference or a bespoke installation, Rob will always be happy to advise and present solutions whatever the size of the project.

 

Graham Russell, Production and Media Support

Originally from west London, Graham moved to the southwest twenty years ago and has spent the last two decades on air at various radio stations across the region. He’s also an accomplished scriptwriter and commercial/promo producer. The main star of the picture above is of course Eddie who keeps Graham busy and well exercised. Graham is usually the voice you hear on the phone when you call us, and the rest of the time he’s providing office admin support for many of the ESW team.

 

Philip Shortland, Project Manager.

Philip has been with ESW for 7 years and is a hugely talented A/V technician, covering all aspects of the business from installations to conferences and events. He is an extremely valuable member of the team. The fields in which Philip favours are Graphics and Installation.Philip enjoys travelling extensively with ESW not just locally but all over the UK and abroad. This part of the job he now loves and now knows London better than his own town of Torquay. Philip now follows in his father’s footsteps as a keen photographer, however unlike his father who is a professional, Philip only dabbles. He is now able to bring his hobby to work to photograph conferences and events to help out where he can. ESW plays a large part in Philips life and he enjoys the steady expansion of company. Now promoted to the role of Project Manager Philip is really relishing the new responsibilities, and his ‘people skills’ are promoting some great feedback from our clients!

 

Richard Hawkins, Technician.

Little Rich as he is affectionally known, even though he has now hit the ripe old age of 21, is an exceptional team member. Qualified in the world of sound engineering, Richard's skills and strengths go far beyond this. In his spare time Richard can usually be found at ESW's warehouse working more as his hobby is his job, it's this love of the business that ensure's Richard a very bright future with the company. Richard often travels with the company, nationally and throughout Europe and is always keen to share his knowledge with clients and colleagues.

 

Sam Nicholls, Crew Member.

Daughter of Martin and Tracey, Sam has grown up around the family business and currently enjoys working with the crew whenever she can during weekends and school holidays. Sam's passion within the business is in production work, conferencing and events, enjoying mostly working on site as part of the team. Pictured here participating in her favourite hobby, horse riding and show jumping. Leaving school in 2011, Sam is very much looking forward to joining the team full time.

 

Darren Campan, Technician.

Darren started his career as studio manager for the world renowned composer Barrington Pheloung, who's credits include Inspector Morse, Lewis and many feature films.  Since then Darren has developed his skills to further his career as an all round technician and has become an oracle of knowledge within the conferencing and live events industry. A specialist in sound engineering, Darren has engineered for many respected artists and as an accomplished musician has all the skills to engineer all genres of music and live events. He has more recently turned his hand to specialise in our online services including our talking slides product and media services. His experience and knowledge is a great asset to ESW and Darren is always available to help with enquiries and if he doesn't have the info you need he will have a manual that he can find it in!

 

Shaun Olver, Technician

Shaun is our newest and youngest member of staff, a trained and highly skilled technician of a few years, Shaun has already been involved in some of our largest conferences and his knowledge has proved very popular with our clients.  Within the field of IT Shaun is a wiz and always looking to help.  Passionate about music Shaun plays in a local band, currently on keys although is a keen drummer also.
